[Coven] Pantheons

Okay, this is probably not going to make a lot of sense because, personally, I'm not polytheistic. I'm monotheistic. I believe in a single Deity in the form of a divine Creator who is neither male nor female, but beyond both and with aspects of each. And I view the various gods and goddesses of the numerous pantheons of the world as simply different aspects of that same deity.

That said, I also work primarily with the elements themselves as opposed to specific deity, preferring to utilize the divine spark within rather than seeking outside intervention most of the time.

I am, however, drawn more toward certain aspects of deity than I am to others. Aside from Hestia (that one's a fairly obvious no-brainer, huh?), I have always felt more in tune with the concept of the triple goddess in the form of Hecate and the Morrigan. Also, I tend to gravitate more toward the darker goddesses who are generally associated with war, destruction/creation or birth/death/rebirth, but a few kinder, gentler ones do round out the mix. A few of the goddesses I'm most drawn to are Ishtar, Bast, Nephthys, Bride, Nicnevin and Kali. As you can see, I draw from a variety of pantheons rather than sticking to just one or two. But I do find that mostly my instincts lean more toward Celtic/Pictish, Greek, Egyptian and Babylonian.

As far as gods go, I'll have to give that a little more thought and get back to you on that. But off the top of my head: Poseidon, Dionysus, Anubis, Lugh and Dagda. ;)

Sorry if this has been a bit convoluted and confusing. What can I say? Nothing is ever simple with me.

Unity & Blessed Be,
Hestia
